Travel writer and photographer Christopher P. Baker—the Lowell Thomas Award 2008 'Travel Journalist of the Year'—is one the world’s premier guidebook writers. He is considered the world’s foremost authority on Costa Rica and Cuba travel.

He has authored more than 30 travel books and currently has more than 20 books in print.

The recipient of more than 20 Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Awards, he has also been named Travel Journalist of the Year by the Caribbean Tourism Organization and the Jamaica Tourist Board.

He escorts tours to Costa Rica for National Geographic Expeditions and Smithsonian Journeys.
